The U11 Meat Wagon Golden Eagles of the Simcoe and District Youth Soccer Club made it all the way to 6th place out of 15 in the national BMO Team of the Week Contest! The Golden Eagles were one of 547 teams nominated across Canada in the BMO contest, and were selected as one of 15 finalists based on the nomination made by soccer mom, Laura Snow. Although we didn't win the $125,000 grand prize to build a new clubhouse at the soccer park, Simcoe and District Youth Soccer Club is very proud of the team's initiative and determination throughout the contest. We especially appreciate their efforts in helping World Teacher Aid by collecting over 400 soccer jerseys, 198 pairs of soccer shorts, 198 pairs of soccer socks, and soccer balls for schools in Kenya. We would like to thank our community for its support and recognize the efforts of the following individuals and organizations: The U11 Golden Eagles, their coaches and their parents BMO - Simcoe Branch Simcoe Reformer Port Dover Maple Leaf Norfolk Hub CD98.9 Edge Imaging Melissa Brown Mark Wingrove Simcoe Rotary Club and Friendship Festival Annex Publishing Tom Myerscough Leora Ferras Real Canadian Superstore Bell Store - Simcoe Town Centre World Teacher Aid All the businesses that helped promote the contest And last but not least….
